The discrepancy between the reality of our world and the world we’d like to live in has never been clearer. We need real change, rather than adapting to ‘new-normals’ that build on defunct systems.
We are now seeing our fragility as humans in the face of nature. That, in itself, is humbling. We must insist that our industry develops new systems that prioritize the earth's wellness over financial gain.
Now, more than ever, it is time to turn our words into something tangible and be a part of this change. It is an opportunity that we must leverage for a better tomorrow.
Fashion is a complex business. One that can so easily and so negatively impact our environment, our communities, and the people who work in our supply chain. We understand that, by following our values through to good business practice, we can help improve the lives and, in turn, sustain the livelihoods of the communities in which we operate.
We understand, too, that the raw materials we use contribute to our overall impact on the environment and – with this in mind – we aim to achieve full traceability of and accountability for those raw materials in the ways we work with our suppliers. More than this, we seek to push the boundaries of material innovation, where we are constantly working towards employing unconventional, low-impact, sustainably sourced materials to the world of luxury accessories. In short: things do not have to stay as they are. In fact, they cannot.
This is why we encourage our business partners to work with us and to do more than the bare, legal minimum wherever possible. We ask them, as we ask ourselves, to push toward continuous improvement in their operations in terms of ethical trading, environmental protection, and business ethics. Together, we will create a business environment that supports the delivery of our goals.
A a guiding framework, we use the United Nations' 2030 sustainable development goals.
We have chosen to work towards five specific goals in which we have the most leverage to drive positive change.
Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls
Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all
Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialisation and foster innovation
Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns
Take urgent action to mitigate climate change and its impacts
